“GREETINGS to all Textile Museum volunteers who are as crazy for gardens, gardening and all plant life as I. And hello to all the others who lead a double life between TMC and their various growing places (not necessarily gardens)! I’m just thrilled at our beautiful new website with its wide embrace of the museum, and the world around it. Now I can keep you posted on the activities of the Horticultural Societies of Parkdale & Toronto starting with our Plant Fair on May 8, a Garden Tour on June 13 and concluding (for this season) with a one-day coach outing. That outing is still being developed, so please stay tuned for an announcement (the outing is open to non-Horticultural members).
Looking at the two volunteer organizations, so very different in structure and nature, I am struck forcefully by the strength and gladness that a few determined people working together can achieve. The Textile Museum volunteers’ Annual General Meeting (on April 22) was a perfect demonstration, in its jubilant atmosphere and the many achievements it recorded of our team.
Congratulations and thanks to the Volunteer Association Committee.”
