OCAD University is offering a new Fibre Arts course this winter:
Fibre Arts With Natural Dyes
CSMG 1N01, 6 weeks
Instructor: Chung-Im Kim, MFA
Tuesdays, 6-9 p.m., Feb. 8-March 15, 2011
Students will learn to create rich and vibrant textile dyes from local wild plants, insects and other domestic natural materials. Topics include the science of applying mordants to natural fibres, learning over-dyeing method to achieve the full palette of colours and developing a sustainable contemporary fibre art practice.
