Carol-ann Casselman’s “Window Quilt”

By Beverely Baird Lane

After visiting the Yardage Sale, Carol-ann Casselman, Linda Heron and I headed north to the Dufferin County Museum for the opening of Stitches Across Time, which includes an art piece by Carol-ann.

Stitches Across Time is a juried art show. Participating artists were asked to choose–from several artifacts–a piece that would inspire their own work. Carol-ann’s “Window Quilt” piece is created from Tozo paper, linen thread, wood, and includes text. During the speeches, the audience was told the Dufferin County Museum was delighted that three distinguished visitors from the Textile Museum of Canada had come for the opening. We looked at each other wondering whom we had missed, and then realized they were talking about us!

The Dufferin County Museum is well worth a visit.
