Here is my DIY reupholstery project using a piece of fantastic fabric I found at this year’s More Than Just a Yardage Sale. I lucked out in the final minutes of the Sale on Saturday. The fabric had been bundled inside out, only showing the less appealing beige backing. When I checked the other side, it revealed a lovely cream-white, thick cotton that several TMC Volunteers assured me could be used for upholstery. I paid only $7 for 3 metres, which was more than enough for my project. I had found these two vintage chairs years ago outside of University of Toronto’s Victoria College, which I promptly shoved into the back of a cab and took home with me. – Fallon Butler, development manager, Textile Museum of Canada
