FLOC: It’s a Wrap!

Thanks to everyone who made For the Love of Cloth 2011 a success. Our sale starts with the generosity of donors from Toronto’s Designers Walk. Primavera provided us with ends and samples of the finest fabrics. We also had donations from Robert Allen Design and Telio. Also this year: Angel Interiors created a sample footstool out of upholstery fabric. El Cheapo Movers provided trucking services that made it easy for us to move a load of fabric.

Volunteers spent many hours sorting and pricing the fabric, then working at the sale. This year, more than 32 TMC Volunteers took part. They brought energy and inspiration to the task. Staff at the Textile Museum contributed in many ways, from consultation and photography to publicity.

Our Got It Made! corner showcased the skills of volunteers. It offered buyers a rich display of creative work made from decorator fabrics.

Finally, a special thank-you to our shoppers: Fabric artists, creative sewers, fashion design students and passersby who found beautiful fabrics at discount prices at our sidewalk sale just outside the Museum.

Volunteers collect and sell donated fabrics, yarn and other textile goods to raise money for the Textile Museum of Canada. Watch for special small sales in coming months.

GOT IT MADE! Have you made anything from materials purchased at our FLOC sale? If so, send an email to us and we’ll showcase your creation in our Got It Made! section.
