How to Make the Most of the Yardage Sale

The annual More Than Just a Yardage Sale, on May 25 and 26 at the Textile Museum, is a treasure chest of bargains. But how to make the most of this once-a-year opportunity for unique items at bargain prices?

There’s no right time to come as the tables are regularly refreshed with new items. A second round will always reveal something special.

More Than Just a Yardage Sale

We’ve noticed that knitters line up early on Friday morning to get to the yarn tent, which sells out on Day One. Friday lunch hours are busy with office workers dropping by. Friday afternoon is a good time for serious shoppers to browse the full range of what’s available. Mothers and daughters often come together.

Fashion students like the quiet of Saturday morning to consult with the sales volunteers on fabrics for school projects. And it’s not just crafters who enjoy the sale – books, household items and beads make wonderful one-of-a-kind gifts.
