Materials: Paper, Clay, Fibre and Metal

TMC Volunteer Sheila Thompson has curated Materials: Paper, Clay, Fibre and Metal, an art show featuring her own felted fibre art, the paper and clay sculpture of Noriko Yamamoto, and the fine pure silver metal work of Sue McNenly.

Much of Sheila’s felt work embeds organic materials as well as other unusual materials such as linen paper, fine copper wire for tying flies, ultrafine stainless steel fibre, candy wrappers and the paper of cigarette butts. The show presents materials in pure form through sculpture and again as key elements in fibre art.
