VOLUNTEER ASSOCIATION | Textile Museum of Canada
Weaving instructor, Line Dufour, is leading a spectacular collaborative project that involves people from around the world including many interested tapestry weavers in the Toronto area.
Volunteers, staff and members of the Textile Museum are welcome to join those working on the tapestry at the Toronto Weaving School. No experience is required and you are not required to sign up for any classes. Participants will be included in the documentation when the piece is exhibited, as well as appearing in a video (if they wish) that is being made about the project as it unfolds.
Another aspect of the project involves shapes that correspond to the main tapestries. These pieces are arriving daily from all over the world. Visit the blog or the Facebook page to see the progression of the tapestry project.
The Toronto Weaving School is located at 255 Royal York Rd., Toronto, 2nd floor, room 30. Line Dufour leads classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am – 9 pm (with the exception of holiday Mondays). The remaining dates before the summer break are:
Mondays, 10am – 9pm
Wednesdays, 10am – 9pm
There will a new schedule established when weaving classes resume in September.
Read more about the project on Line Dufour’s website.
This project is supported the Ontario Arts Council.
