Torah Stitch by Stitch

Torah Stitch by Stitch is a project of ordinary people who want to experience the purpose, rigour and spirit of producing the holy texts. Rather than quill, ink and parchment, cross-stitch embroidery is used – a traditional method in many cultures for teaching young women to sew and to read.

TMC Volunteer Temma Gentles is the project’s volunteer designer and coordinator. Upon registration, each participant will receive a kit with all of the materials to stitch four verses of Torah in a cross-stitch font created especially for this project.

Please visit the website and blog for project information and helpful tips.
