Packing Away Ancestry & Artistry

On January 13, Museum staff and volunteers took down the exhibition Ancestry & Artistry: Maya Textiles from Guatemala. TMC Volunteer Arlette Schulman took a few behind-the-scenes photos during the five hours it took to dismantle the large exhibit.  “We always place all the pieces in large plastic bags to isolate them before taking them up to the fourth floor, and they remain in these bags for two or three weeks before returning in their regular storage space,” Arlette says. Pitching to help were Mary Helen, Pam, Stephanie, Joel and Hillary.
