Hat-making Workshop in Fibrespace

In conjunction with the exhibition Good Beginnings: Children’s Hats and Clothing from China, the Textile Museum of Canada hosted a special hat-making workshop during the March Break. On Wednesday, March 18 more than 40 people were sewing, beading and designing in Fibrespace, creating charming animal-themed hats. A special thank you to the TMC Volunteer educators who helped facilitate the program – Marilyn Penley, Julia Bryant and Pat Crothall – as well as those who helped workshop the activity at the two most recent volunteer meetings. Marilyn also created a gorgeous hat at home, which served as an inspiring sample for workshop participants.
