“Tied, Dyed and Woven” Inservice tour

For Textile Museum of Canada Volunteers:

Our next exhibition, “Tied, Dyed and Woven: Ikat Textiles from Latin America,” curated by Roxane Shaughnessy, will open on September 19. The exhibition features textiles from Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile that celebrate the continuing importance of ikat expressions within these cultural traditions, in the marketplace and contemporary fashion.

Please join us on Friday, August 18 at 10 am or Thursday, August 24 at 1 pm for an information session to learn more about the exhibition. These sessions are an opportunity for all staff and volunteers to prepare to respond to visitors’ questions about upcoming exhibitions, as well as provide directions for personal research. Refreshments will be served after each session to provide an opportunity for staff and volunteers across the Museum to connect and delve deeper into various aspects of the exhibition content.

Inservice gallery tours of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday, September 20 at 10 am and Friday, September 22 at 10 am.

Please note that the public reception for “Tied, Dyed and Woven” will be held on Tuesday September 19 from 6:30 – 8pm. Mark your calendars!

We look forward to seeing you all at these sessions. Please forward to this opportunity to your volunteer groups.
