Dear Textile Museum of Canada Volunteers:
Artistry in Silk: The Kimono of Itchiku Kubota opens next Wednesday February 7. We have already noticed strong interest in this exhibition, which includes very valuable artworks. We are expecting heightened attendance for the VIP reception at 5 pm, the public reception at 6 pm and during the first three weeks of the exhibition.
We are looking to fill the following volunteer positions:
- Opening Reception: February 7, 5-8 | Gallery Attendants: support visitor circulation, assure food & drink don’t leave the Mezzanine level, keep visitors from touching the kimonos on display
- February 8 – March 2, 11-2 & 2-5 daily, 5-8 Wednesdays | Gallery Attendants / Museum Ambassadors: keep visitors from touching the kimonos on display, interact with visitors and answer questions
We are reaching out to existing volunteers before seeking volunteers outside the Museum. Interested individuals should contact Caitlin Donnelly, Marketing and Museum Services Intern, at cdonnelly@textilemuseum.ca stating their preferred shift. Recurring, regular shifts are preferred. (ie. every Monday at 2, every Tuesday and Thursday at 11, etc.)
Thank You for your support as we host this exciting exhibition!
